This is a first draft for yet another magazine layout however on this layout is text heavy. I made the type as small as acceptable and currently have a small headline. I plan to put some kind of graphic on the far right side to break up all of the heave text.

For this project we had to redesign a layout that was very light on text. I choose to add a red graphic border to take up some space and add movement through the piece. I choose the color red because I plan to add red peppers above the photo caption to match the red border. It was challenging to work with so little text so I dealt with that by using a large drop cap and point 12 font.

For this project we had to design a magazine layout that was very text heavy. I choose to use a two column grid to give the text space to spread out. I used a typographic approach for the headline leaving the top portion of the word stressed out of the layout. I also changed to sizes of the letters in frazzled in hopes the actual word looked frazzled. I also choose a dark green in hopes it was a homey southing color.

This is a redesign of the previous native american poster. My first poster was considered offensive by my audience so I changed my concept. I decided to use the catchy phrase Geronimo! Jump into native american culture.

For this project we were told to redesign a poster promoting a rock climbing club. The goal of the poster was to join the club to make friends. I choose another typographic design with the catchy phrase "hey loser want friend?" I chose such a phrase for the purpose of attention getting.

For this project we had to redesign a poster for a german culture event. The information we were given said that it was German culture with a bid and little c so I decided to go with that idea and actually make a big and a little c. I went with a more typographic approach.

For this project I redesigned a poster promoting events sponsored by the spanish club. They offered salsa dancing lessons so i decided to put a male tomato asking a female pepper if she wants to salsa? I chose to use a simple graphic and tilt them to show movement.

For this project I was promoting a ceramics class that is for all ages and skill levels. I chose to manipulate type in the form of a ceramic vase. I felt like this would be an attention getter if the viewer is the least bit interested and would maybe want to interpret the details and dates. I chose red paper to give it more appeal and it also reflects the red tones often seen in clay.

For this project I redesigned a flyer promoting GREK 100. I chose to use a typographic approach to show movement and a hypothetical travel towards learning how to speak greek. This was a difficult project due to the fact it was a one color job.

For this project we had to redesign a flyer for an art gala sponsored by missouri dormitory hall. I chose to box off the whole flyer creating the sense of an art gallery. I filled some of the "frames" with information about the gala. I chose to leave some of the frames blank so the viewer could picture their work hanging in the MO hall art gala.

Native American Heritage Poster

For this assignment we were given a poorly designed flyer that was printed on horrible orange paper. The purpose of the flyer was to promote Native American heritage month. I choose to change the tone of the flyer so that it has a more comical feel. My inspiration was from Disney's Peter Pan, the song "what makes the red man red?" I stylized a question mark with the phrase "what makes the red man red?" Due to the fact that we had a lot of information on the original flyer i chose to justify left the events going on all throughout Native American heritage month.
